UNC Basketball: Armando Bacot works on jumper during training session

Jul 16, 2023

When North Carolina forward Armando Bacot decided to return to the program for a fifth and final year, he did so with hopes of getting the team back to the NCAA Tournament and making a run at another national championship.

Bacot returns as North Carolina’s best player and one of the top players in the country. He already holds the program’s record for most career rebounds and will add to that number in the upcoming season. But before the Tar Heels hit the court in November, Bacot is working on another part of his game.

At a training session in New York City, Bacot was working on his jump shot as you can see in the video below:

In his four-year career at UNC, Bacot has averaged 13.7 points per game while appearing in 132 games and starting 131 of those. In 2021-22 he averaged a career-high 16.3 points per game and followed that with a 15.9 points per game average last season.

If Bacot can get this jumper to be a crucial part of his game, it could force defenses to come out on him more this season.
